Better Emoji Picker is a personal project by a single developer, not a company. It's an emoji picker for Windows that opens with a keyboard shortcut. The short version: it doesn't connect to the internet and it doesn't collect anything about you. This page spells out what it touches on your PC and why.
What the app touches
- The clipboard. When you pick an emoji, the app puts that emoji on your clipboard. If "Paste automatically" is on, it then sends a paste keystroke (Ctrl+V) to the window you were typing in. It never stores or sends anywhere what is on your clipboard.
- The position of the text field you're typing in. To open next to where you're writing, the app asks Windows where the text cursor or the focused field is on screen. It reads the position only, never the text.
- The keyboard, in two limited ways. It registers one global shortcut with Windows so it can open from any window. And while you are recording a new shortcut in Settings, it listens to the keyboard to capture the combination you press; those keystrokes are used for that and nothing else, and are not saved.
- The emoji you use. Your favorites and your recently used emoji are remembered so they can be shown at the top of the picker.
Where it's kept
Everything stays on your own PC, in the app's own local data area, which Windows removes when you uninstall it: your settings, your favorites, your recent emoji, and a few small diagnostic files (how long the app took to start, and details of a crash if one happens).
What it doesn't do
- It makes no network connections. There is no server, no account and no sign-in.
- No analytics, telemetry or tracking of any kind.
- It doesn't sell or share data with anyone, because it has none to share.
- It doesn't record what you type or what's in your documents.
Third parties
Microsoft Store, if you installed the app from there: Microsoft may collect what it normally collects for any Store app (installs, crashes, ratings) under its own privacy policy, which is outside this app's control.
Your control
- You can turn off automatic pasting in Settings; the emoji is then only copied to the clipboard.
- You can remove any favorite by right-clicking it, and choose how many recent emoji are kept.
- You can erase everything by uninstalling the app.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.

Qué no hace
